Cancelled Meetings

Greetings.

This is a lengthy message but please do read it all.

After some serious consideration and in accordance with government advice over the current health crisis concerning public gatherings, all our meetings/gatherings are suspended for the next three weeks. This will be reviewed on Monday 5th April. This includes the baptismal service which was scheduled for this Sunday evening (22nd March) which we will rearrange.

We are looking to stream a Sunday service and the details as to how this will happen will appear on our Website. The Tuesday prayer meeting will be via the conference call facility that the Sunday School leaders use.  Again visit our Website (www.hecc.org.uk) for details.

This does raise a number of serious issues:

First of all we are still caring community of believers. It is import that we demonstrate that care for each other as well to our neighbours.  Please do phone each other especially those who are not able to get out to ensure that they are alright and to see if we can help them in practical ways, such a collecting shopping, medicines etc.  Do check on your neighbours or by a call on their door.  Obviously keep a reasonable distance to avoid getting or transmitting the virus. Physical contact is not advised.

Secondly, this will place a considerable strain upon the churches financial resources which are already under pressure.  Please continue to give either via online banking or contact me for other ways.  Again please contact me should you require the churches banking details.

Thirdly, I am your Pastor and am available to minister to and for you. Please ring first and we can determine should a visit be necessary. (020 8573 8148)

This is a trying time, but it should not be a time for fear. It is an opportunity to seek the face of our Lord and to know what he is saying.

Remember:

"..For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7.

Is this a sign of the end times?  We should live with our bags packed ready to go and be with Him in an instant, but prepare for the future if He does not return today.

We should, “…look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."  Luke 21:28, but we still have work to do until that takes place.

Keep looking for Him and keep working for Him.

God bless

Pastor Raymond
